The programme of intensive preparatory courses of the Czech language in combination with English is intended for the students who would like to do the Master’s programme at state and private universities in the Czech Republic or Bachelor’s programme at private Czech universities.
Duration of the programme: 15th January 2015 – 31st August 2015.
The programme includes:
- 420 teaching hours of Czech (4 classes 5 times a week);
- 72 teaching hours of English (5 teaching hours a week: 3 + 2 teaching hours a week);
- 320 teaching hours of subjects necessary for admission to universities.
Price of the course: 3200 €
Number of students in a group: 12-14.
Within the semester course the students can sign up for additional subjects necessary for their admission to universities. Among the subjects we offer are: the basics of social studies, history, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.
The programme of intensive preparatory courses of the Czech language in combination with English is finished with the state exams in Czech and English. The basic state language exam is an exam on B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The students, who successfully pass the exam, will receive a Certificate of successful language exam completion on B1 level on the CEFR. The students take the exam in English on their own request.
The Certificate of successful language exam completion on B1 level of the CEFR is sufficient for admission to most of private universities in the Czech Republic.
In spoken language the graduates of the programme of preparatory intensive courses of the Czech language in combination with English should be able to speak about the topics that relate to him/her (for example, family, hobbies, work, travelling and current events), should also be able to explain briefly his/her opinions and intentions. The graduates should be further able to describe their impressions of a film or book and to descrive his/her emotions.
In written language the graduates of the programme should be able to produce simple, logically connected texts on the topics they are familiar with or the topics they are interested in. The graduates should also be able to share their worries and impressions in personal correspondence.
The following is included in the price of the programme: visa support of each student (consultations during the preparation of the documents necessary for a long-term visa application), meeting the student at his/her arrival to Prague, arranging accommodation, help with all technical and ordinary issues, help with validation of the diploma (secondary school certificate), assistance with visa extension, consultations regarding the application and admission to universities.
Additional costs upon arrival: accommodation at the student residence hall (220-260 Eur per month), food (150-200 Eur), transport fare (10 Eur), the Internet (10 Eur), and mobile connection (10-20 Eur).
